Breastfeeding Support

Mothering the New Mother

I am certified through The Center for Breastfeeding as a lactation counselor, CLC (2010)

Some benefits of breastfeeding include:

A strong immune system for the baby

Better mom-baby bonding. Breastfeeding releases oxytocin, the bonding/ love hormone

Breast milk has the exact nutrients your baby needs, and changes to match baby’s needs as he/she grows

Breastfeeding assists your body in healing and returning to its pre-pregnant state

Breastfeeding helps you shed your excess baby weight!

Breastfeeding promotes better discipline! Because you tune-in to your child more effectively and understand her/his psychology more readily, you can then set behavior parameters more effectively.

Ready for Milk!

Common questions mom’s may have that I can answer:

Does breastfeeding have to hurt?

Will I have enough milk?

Is breastfeeding really best?

What if the baby doesn’t want to nurse?

How do I know my baby is getting enough milk?

I have the answers and can help with one-on-one support in the comfort of your own home.

Breastfeeding support is included in my postpartum doula care packages.  If you are seeking breastfeeding support only and are not an existing doula client, my rate is $35 per hour.
